Telstra has wired the complex for two phone lines per unit, this could be rewired

Optus offers direct connection to its local (and long distance) telephony products
through its cable. Currently its local call product is substantial <a href="http://estore.sitesource.com.au/">cheaper</a> than anything offered by Telstra.</font></p>

Both Telstra and Optus are obliged to provide access to their local call infrastructure

Government<br>
The government has signalled that it is unhappy with the lack of development
and uptake of broadband internet connection in Australia. It has advised that
this is not happening at the same strength as other comparable overseas countries.
